               Women’s Institute

Meets at 2pm on the third Thursday of each month at Winterslow Village Hall

Next meetings

Thursday 17th July 7pm

Don Cross talks on `Salisbury as a sea port'. This meeting is open to non WI members, husbands, partners and interested ladies are all very welcome. Tea and cakes will be available at the close of the talk for a small charge.

Thursday 31St July 7-7.30pm

Bangers, beans and bingo evening. We invite everyone to an evening of bingo with a supper of bangers and beans, entry cost £5.00 with bingo books available at the door at 50p. To secure your ticket please contact Chris Walker email chris@downs-view.co.uk

Thursday 14th August 2-5pm

  We invite you to our OPEN GARDENS on Thursday 14th August.

From 2.00pm to 5.00pm.

We have four gardens on offer to browse round

  • 100 Firs Road Firsdown SP5 1SP
  • 19 Firs Road Firsdown SP5 1SQ

Entrance fee £1 per garden (pay at the gates).
Proceeds to WI ‘Take Five’, to celebrate the 90 years of Wiltshire Federation of Women’s Institutes.

An opportunity to peek behind the garden gate and afternoon teas will be available at two of the gardens.

 

Thursday 21St August at 10am

We are having a patio sale at the village hall. An opportunity to bring and buy small items, homemade goods and plants.

Thursday 18th September 2pm

Our speaker will be from the Auctioneers May and son, with a competition of an antique or collectable.

 

The purpose of the women's Institute

The vision of the women's Institute as the largest women's organisation in the UK, we aim to offer women the best opportunity to make an impact in their communities, to influence local, national and world issues affecting the social, economic and environmental life of families and communities, and tom learn new and traditional skills.
